ABALORA NECKLACE

ABALORA · an extraordinary abalone shell forms the heart of this striking necklace. We have carefully cleaned, sanded and hand-polished the shell to fully reveal its fascinating iridescent colours and intense natural lustre.

Several dozen small freshwater pearls have been individually placed by hand along the shell, not only across the front but also around its inner edge. Like tiny drops of light, they frame the shell and create a beautiful contrast with its shifting reflections. Depending on the light, the abalone reveals delicate shades of blue, violet, green and pink, while the small white pearls stand out like tiny points of light.

The composition is completed with large Baroque pearls in organic shapes and exceptional lustre. Each pearl has been carefully threaded and hand-knotted onto delicate silk thread, creating an elegant, natural drape and giving the necklace an almost sculptural presence.

The Baroque pearls also reveal delicate iridescent reflections in sunlight, creating a fascinating interplay of colours alongside the luminous surface of the abalone shell.
